V Neck Chokki Vest Knitting Pattern

The ‘V-neck Chokki’ is a relaxed-fit drop shoulder vest worked from the top down. I incorporated a compact, shallow V-neck and a relaxed silhouette. The term ‘Chokki’ means ‘vest’ in Japanese and has a retro vibe. To start, the back shoulder is worked, with short-row shoulder shaping, to the underarm. Stitches for the front are picked up from the back shoulders, and both of the fronts are worked flat while shaping the neck, and joined to the back at the underarm, to be worked seamlessly to the hem. The armhole borders are worked from stitches picked up around the armholes and worked in the round in ribbing. Finally, stitches are picked up along the fronts and neck and the 1×1 rib button band is worked as you go. You can choose from three types of buttonholes, and the body length can be adjusted to your preference.
